The defendant, Billy Ray Smith, applied for supervisory writs from the trial court denial of his application for post-conviction relief. The defendant claimed that his pleas of guilty to aggravated rape and armed robbery were invalid because he was not properly informed of the minimum and maximum periods of incarceration to which he might be sentenced, and he was not advised nor did he understand that the terms of imprisonment were required by statute...
