PER CURIAM.

The defendant, Charles Smith, Sr., age 35, was originally charged with 2 counts of issuing worthless checks in a felony amount and jumping bail. Pursuant to plea negotiations between the defendant and the State of Louisiana, the defendant pled guilty to one count of theft in an amount in excess of $500.00. The maximum penalty for theft over $500.00 is 10 years at hard labor and a fine of $3,000.00, or both.
