A jury convicted appellant Cashim Alladin of attempted murder in the second degree, Minn.Stat. §§ 609.19 (1984) and 609.17 (1984); assault in the first degree, Minn. Stat. § 609.221 (1984); and kidnapping, Minn.Stat. § 609.25, subd. 1(1) (1984).
