Bruce Wholey Patten was indicted on September 25, 1984 on five counts of knowing possession of corporate checks stolen from the mails, in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 1708 (1982). After he failed to appear for arraignment on October 4, 1984, he was declared a fugitive.
