Petitioner was conditionally paroled in 1973 after serving six years of a 5- to 10-year sentence for attempted rape. While on parole he was arrested, and in July of 1975, he was convicted of the crimes of attempted rape in the first degree and sexual abuse in the first degree and was sentenced to concurrent prison terms of 7½ to 15 years and 3½ to 7 years. As a result of these new criminal charges, a parole violation warrant was issued...
