This is an appeal from an order dismissing one count of a four-count petition. In the dismissed count, two children, Sheila Hester and Christopher Hester ("plaintiffs"), sought damages for the alleged wrongful death of their mother, Patty Lou Rymer ("the victim"). Plaintiffs averred that the victim was fatally wounded November 18, 1984, when her husband, John Rymer—plaintiffs' stepfather—"negligently and recklessly" discharged a handgun...
