WOZNIAK, Judge.

Appellant Charles Louwagie is a farmer in Lyon County. On September 20, 1983, Thomas Noram, Louwagie's full-time hired hand, was injured in a farming accident. The State of Minnesota Special Compensation Fund paid Noram's workers' compensation claim because Louwagie did not carry workers' compensation insurance. The Fund brought an action against Louwagie to recover the sums paid to Noram. Louwagie brought this action against respondents...
