Ruth Hansen filed for disability insurance benefits, supplemental security income benefits, and widow's benefits, under the Social Security Act. Her claims were denied by the Social Security Administration following a hearing before an administrative law judge (ALJ), and Hansen then brought this action under 42 U.S.C. § 405(g) (1982).
