The defendant was charged with one count of simple burglary, a violation of La.R.S. 14:62 and one count of theft, a violation of La.R.S. 14:67. On May 7, 1985, the defendant appeared in open court and, pursuant to a plea bargain agreement with the district attorney's office, entered a plea of guilty to the charge of simple burglary of an auto salvage yard.
