Carole Ruppert sued her no-fault insurer, Milwaukee Mutual Insurance Company, a Wisconsin corporation, for basic economic loss benefits, see Minn.Stat. § 65B.44 (1984), for expenses incurred after April 30, 1981 as related to back and neck injuries she suffered in a December 1980 rear-end motor vehicle collision. Milwaukee Mutual paid for expenses incurred by Ruppert before April 30, 1981, and then refused further payment...
