SNELL, Judge.

Defendant Teresa Viola Plowman was charged with second-degree murder. Plowman testified at trial that on the evening of June 4, 1984, her twenty-one month old daughter, Lacy, and another of her children were crying. She attempted to appease Lacy by giving her water, and then by changing her diaper. However, Lacy continued to cry. Plowman stated that at that time she began to carry Lacy back to the bedroom.
