Appellant Orestes Pita-Iglesia was convicted of assault in the second degree pursuant to Minn.Stat. § 609.222 (1984). On appeal he claims the evidence was insufficient to establish that he had not acted in self-defense and the court erred in refusing to allow defense counsel to introduce extrinsic evidence concerning a witness' subsequent conviction.
