The evidence adduced at trial was sufficient to permit a rational trier of fact to find the defendant guilty of the murder of Laura Milbrandt and her son Richard and of a related arson (see, People v Contes, 60 N.Y.2d 620, 621). The defendant's statements to several witnesses that he "meant to get rid of Richie" could have been interpreted by the jury...
