This is an appeal from an award of custody of a five year old boy.

The parties were married in 1973 and separated in December 1983. Three children, boys ages 10 and 5 years and a girl age 9 years, are issue of the marriage. Upon trial of a rule for custody soon after the separation, the parties stipulated that custody of the 10 year old son be awarded to the father and the two younger children to the mother.
