Angela Tyler filed suit against Natchitoches Coca-Cola Bottling Company and Brookshire's Grocery Company to recover damages for injuries sustained when a thirty-two ounce returnable bottle of Coca-Cola exploded. On August 16, 1982, at about 2:00 p.m., Dorothy Longino, plaintiff's mother, purchased two cartons of Coca-Cola from Brookshire's Grocery in Natchitoches.
