Scott Allen Mercer appeals his conviction for unlawful possession of marijuana in excess of 40 grams. He contends: (1) the marijuana seized from his car and his statements to police should have been suppressed as the fruit of an unlawful investigative stop; (2) the same evidence was excludable for lack of Miranda warnings; and (3) the search of his car was invalid under State v. Ringer, 100 Wn.2d 686,
