Kent Rainey was indicted for arson in the first degree of an apartment occupied by Sandra Kirby at the Red Oak Apartments on 4439 Campbell Drive, Atlanta, Georgia, on June 4, 1985. He was also indicted for simple battery of Sandra Kirby on June 7, 1985, by striking her with his fists.
