The defendant, who acted as his own attorney at his trial before a jury of six in a District Court, appeals his conviction of larceny by false pretenses. He claims that his waiver of counsel was involuntary, that the Commonwealth's case was based on substantial amounts of inadmissible hearsay evidence and was insufficient to justify the conviction, that the admission of hearsay evidence subjected him to unfair prejudice, and that the judge's instructions...
