Thompson, Jr., was charged by bill of information on June 23, 1983, with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, to-wit: cocaine with intent to distribute, a violation of LSA-R.S. 40:964, Schedule II, A(4) and LSA-R.S. 40:967 A(1).
