This is an appeal from the Circuit Court of Quitman County, Mississippi wherein the appellant, Billy Ray Staten, a convicted felon, was indicted and tried for possession of a deadly weapon. Following conviction he was sentenced to serve a term of five (5) years in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections.
