The defendant, Thomas Vital, Sr., was charged by bill of information with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute in violation of La.R.S. 40:966(A)(1). On June 10, 1985, the defendant, having previously entered a plea of not guilty, withdrew his former plea and pleaded guilty.
