The respondent mother has appealed from the judgment committing her three year old daughter, Cynthia, to the temporary custody of the commissioner of the department of children and youth services (DCYS), pursuant to General Statutes § 46b-129 (d), for the maximum period of eighteen months for placement with the child's paternal grandmother who lived at the time in Puerto Rico.1
