The defendant, Eddie Evans, was charged by bill of information with armed robbery in violation of LSA-R.S. 14:64 and attempted second degree murder in violation of LSA-R.S. 14:30.1, 14:27. After the defendant was found guilty as charged of armed robbery and guilty of the lesser included offense of aggravated battery in violation of LSA-R.S. 14:34, the trial court sentenced the defendant to serve 35 years at hard labor on the armed robbery charge...
