Defendant, Michael Augustine, was charged by bill of information with the August 5, 1984 armed robbery of Linda Stonebreaker, a violation of LSA R.S. 14:64.1 On August 17, 1984, defendant was arraigned and pled not guilty. On April 3, 1985, defendant was found guilty of attempted armed robbery by a twelve member jury. On April 10, 1985, defendant's motion for a new trial was denied.
