Appellant Lorene Sanders Mims, a woman, was convicted of rape in the first degree, in violation of § 13A-6-61, Code of Alabama 1975. This gender-based code section is applicable to females by virtue of the complicity statutes, §§ 13A-2-23 and 13A-2-25, Code of Alabama 1975. The trial court sentenced appellant to twelve years in the state penitentiary.
