Plaintiff commenced this paternity action on November 3, 1982, alleging that defendant was the father of her thirteen-year-old son who was born on January 2, 1969. Defendant moved to dismiss the case on the ground that the then-effective six-year statute of limitations for suits brought under the Paternity Act, MCL 722.711 et seq.; MSA 25.491 et seq., barred plaintiff's action.
