Following trial to a jury, defendant Arnold Terrill Baldwin, Jr. was convicted of burglary in the second degree in violation of Iowa Code section 713.5 (1983). The court of appeals reversed the conviction on the ground that the district court erred when it refused to suppress evidence police officers had obtained by impounding defendant's van and inventorying its contents. We granted further review to examine the court of appeals decision. We now affirm...
