This case involves an appeal by the defendant, Henry J. Blais III, arising out of a civil action commenced against him by the plaintiff, Walter J. Pulawski, for alienation of affections and criminal conversation. Originally, the jury returned a verdict in the plaintiff's favor totaling $500,000.
