As a result of an incident that occurred in the late evening hours of August 3 and the early morning hours of August 4, 1983, the defendant and his brother, Tyrone Weaver, were both charged with unlawfully carrying a firearm. Tyrone Weaver was also charged with murder in the first degree. The two brothers were tried together before a jury and convicted. Tyrone Weaver's convictions were upheld by the Supreme Judicial Court in Commonwealth v. Weaver...
