On December 31, 1981, William F. Brim was a passenger in an automobile which was involved in a collision with a vehicle driven by Darlene Pruitt. On December 28, 1983, three days before the statute of limitations expired, Brim filed a lawsuit against Pruitt seeking damages for injuries.
