The defendant is appealing from the judgment rendered after his conviction by a jury of the crime of possession of cocaine, General Statutes (Rev. to 1981) § 19-481 (a), possession of marihuana, General Statutes (Rev. to 1981) § 19-481 (c), and possession of drug paraphernalia, General Statutes (Rev. to 1981) § 19-480 (c).1
