The defendants were each convicted upon proper indictments of first degree rape. Each defendant appealed his conviction and mandatory sentence of life imprisonment to this Court as a matter of right.

By their assignments, the defendants contend that their convictions must be reversed and a new trial ordered because the trial court refused to comply with their timely request that the jury be instructed...
