This negligence case arose out of a very complicated multivehicle accident which occurred on January 13, 1976, on an icy area of Interstate 84 (I-84), eastbound, in New Britain. The plaintiff's decedent, Hannelore Zimny, got out of the driver's seat of her damaged car and walked around to the passenger side to help her mother get out of the car.
