The instant application brought by petitioners National Broadcasting Company, Inc. (hereinafter NBC), and Marvyn Kornberg seeks to prohibit the enforcement of an oral ruling in a pending criminal action (People v Jeffrey W. Gilbert and Richard A. Pike, Sup Ct, Queens County, indictment No. 2182/85) which directs all counsel involved in the action to refrain from communicating with members of the news media...
