Prior to October 1985 trash collected or generated in the Village of Boonville was entitled to be disposed of at a dump operated by the village. Under local ordinance a modest licensing fee was charged to local collectors and haulers. The State Department of Environmental Conservation cited the village for violations of State law involving said landfill.
