Defendant, Joe Willie Sterling, was convicted of two counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct, MCL 750.520b(1)(c); MSA 28.788(2)(1)(c), following a jury trial held in the Detroit Recorder's Court, Judge Warfield Moore, Jr., presiding. An earlier trial resulted in a mistrial when the jury was unable to agree on a verdict. Defendant was sentenced to concurrent terms of thirty to sixty years on the first count and forty to seventy years on the second...
