WAHLS, J.

Defendant was tried before the bench on a charge of open manslaughter, MCL 750.321; MSA 28.553. She was convicted of involuntary manslaughter and sentenced to imprisonment for from 4 to 15 years. She appeals as of right. We affirm.

The charge against defendant arose out of the beating death of her 12-year-old son John at the House of Judah Camp in Allegan County. About three years before his death, John came to live with his mother and five siblings...
