BORDEN, J.
After a jury trial, the defendant was convicted of robbery in the first degree in violation of General Statutes § 53a-134 (a) (4). On appeal, the defendant claims that the trial court erred (1) in its instructions defining reasonable doubt by unconstitutionally diluting the state's burden of proof, and (2) in refusing to instruct the jury on the reliability of identification testimony
