This appeal comes to us under unusual circumstances. It resolves itself around the trial court's grant of a "directed verdict" at the close of the plaintiff's opening statement. In opening statement, plaintiff's counsel referred to testimony that would be elicited from the defendant when called as a witness. The defendant objected to the plaintiff's calling the defendant as a witness since the plaintiff had failed to include the defendant's name...
