WIGGINS, Circuit Judge:

Head was indicted for attempted manufacture of methamphetamine (Count I), attempted possession of amphetamines with intent to distribute (Count II), and certain other charges that are not pertinent to the present appeal. The district court granted his motion to suppress evidence of chemicals and other objects seized by an agent of the Drug Enforcement Administration under authority of 21 U.S.C. § 881(a)(2).1
