After a jury trial, the defendant was found guilty of sexual assault in the first degree, a violation of General Statutes § 53a-70 (a). A judgment of conviction was rendered upon the jury's verdict and the defendant was sentenced to a term of six years.1 The defendant has appealed from the judgment of conviction, alleging error in that he was denied his right to testify on his own behalf when the court precluded his testimony...
