FEIN, J.

Defendant stands convicted after a jury trial of murder in the second degree and rape in the first degree, for which he was sentenced to consecutive, indeterminate prison terms of 25 years to life on the murder charge and 8 1/3 to 25 years on the rape charge. He has not yet begun to serve his sentence, since he is currently incarcerated in Florida on unrelated criminal matters.
