On June 17, 1985, defendant pled guilty, in accordance with North Carolina v. Alford, 400 U.S. 25, 91 S.Ct. 160, 27 L.Ed.2d 162 (1970), to one count of attempted first-degree murder, a class two, nondangerous felony, a violation of A.R.S. §§ 13-1001 and 13-1105.
