Plaintiff, the putative father, appeals from the denial of his motion to abate the adoption proceedings for Baby Boy D. He testified that he learned of his ex-girlfriend's pregnancy in June, 1985. She gave birth on July 6, 1985, and, with her consent, the child was placed with the adoptive parents on July 8, 1985. They filed a petition to adopt on July 9.
