Appellant, Robert McCoy, appeals the denial of his pro se petition for writ of habeas corpus (28 U.S.C. § 2254) attacking his conviction on various counts entered upon his guilty plea.1 McCoy alleges that he was denied effective assistance of counsel because counsel failed to investigate a possible insanity defense.
