POLITZ, Circuit Judge:

This appeal invites our first application of Fed.R.Civ.P. 4(j), which became effective February 26, 1983. Barbara Coleman appeals a judgment dismissing her claims under Title VII, 42 U.S.C. §§ 2000e et seq., and 42 U.S.C. § 1981. Finding that Coleman failed to serve the defendants within 120 days, as required by Rule 4(j), we affirm.
