ERICKSON, Justice.

Defendant, Nicholas J. Jones, was convicted of first-degree murder1 and aggravated robbery2 following a jury trial. In People v. Jones, 677 P.2d 383 (Colo.App.1983), the court of appeals reversed the judgments of conviction and remanded the case for a new trial. We granted certiorari to review the decision of the court of appeals.
