ESCHBACH, Circuit Judge.

The plaintiff alleged in this diversity action that he suffered personal injury as a result of the defendants' negligence. The primary question presented in this appeal is whether the district court erred in denying the plaintiff's motion for a new trial. The court entered a judgment on the verdict for the defendants. For the reasons stated below, we will reverse and remand for a new trial.
