Defendant, Albert Paul, was indicted by an Orleans Parish grand jury for the July 27, 1985 second degree murder of his ex-wife, Erica Paul, a violation of La. R.S. 14:30.1. Defendant was arraigned on November 22, 1985 and pled not guilty. Trial was held on February 18, 1986 and defendant was found guilty as charged by a twelve (12) member jury. On February 27, 1986 defendant was sentenced to life imprisonment at hard labor without benefit of parole...
