Following a jury trial in the circuit court of Vermilion County, the defendant, Frank White, was found guilty of aggravated battery of a child (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1983, ch. 38, par. 12-4.3), aggravated battery (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1983, ch. 38, par. 12-4) and battery (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1983, ch. 38, par. 12-3).
